Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences over the passing of renowned filmmaker, producer, writer, and Padma Bhushan awardee Shyam Benegal. In a message, the Chief Minister described Shyam Benegal's death as an irreparable loss to the Indian film industry, highlighting his immense contributions in shaping new directions in cinema. He also reminded that Shyam Benegal had a deep connection with Hyderabad, as he was born and educated here.


The Chief Minister praised Shyam Benegal's extraordinary achievements, including seven National Film Awards and the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which elevated him to the highest echelons of cinema. Films like *Ankur*, *Nishant*, *Manthan*, and *Bhumika* were recognized for bringing significant transformations to the film industry. He prayed for the eternal peace of Shyam Benegal's soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
